Rational:

Every August, the RSPCA and thousands of budding Cupcake Cooks will celebrate ‘Cupcake Day’, the biggest bake-off in the Southern Hemisphere! This simple concept has struck a chord with thousands of Victorians and budding bakers across Australia, presenting a fantastic opportunity to take part in a fun and low-cost event that raises funds needed to give the animals in our care a second chance. Cupcake Day relies upon generous and fun-loving participants to bake cupcakes, sell them and donate the proceeds to the RSPCA. The event presents the perfect opportunity for a fun group activity that contributes to a worthwhile charitable cause.

Since Cupcake Day was launched in 2008, we have experienced a significant growth in the event’s size and fund raising capacity. We are hoping that you will get on board and help us bake our way to our fundraising target.

This year we want schools across Victoria to band together and increase the involvement rate. Not only is this an activity where students can make a significant contribution to their community, but more importantly one that is both educational and heaps of fun! Tummies and brains will have an equal opportunity to be exercised and with this is mind we have included all the information you need for your classes to take part in Cupcake Day this year.

This includes suggestions for lesson plans (all ages), student leadership ideas, recipes for people and canines alike, colouring activities and decoration tips!
