The candles on the cake were lit and the Education dogs slipped on their party hats to celebrate the RSPCA Education Departments tenth birthday. The Education gallery was festooned with flags decorated with animal images drawn by students who have attended our Education programs and many happy speeches were made to the special guests about the work done by the Education staff and the animals who visit schools all around the state to spread the word about the work of the RSPCA and animal welfare.
The dogs barked in delight when we talked about the many students who had been a part of the programs over the years, and when we did the maths we were astounded to find that was probably more 146,000 students who have taken part in our programs to learn first hand why animal welfare is so important.
Happy Birthday Education may the next ten years be as happy and eventful as the last!
