Dear Katie,

Thank you for your enquiry, we enjoy hearing from people who love their pets and are interested in adopting from the RSPCA.

Here at Education we have a variety of our own pets. Most of us have adopted dogs from an Animal Care Campus. We also have lots of other animals including cute cats, fantastic fish, slithery snakes, a cool canary and some lucky backyard chickens just to name a few.

It is exciting that your family are looking at adopting a dog soon. Poodles are well known for not shedding hair, but there are many other breeds that either don’t shed or shed very little of their coat.

Other small breeds (or crossbreeds of) to consider would be:

  • Bichon Frise
  • Shih Tzu
  • Italian Greyhound
  • Miniature Schnauzer

We of course encourage you to adopt from an Animal Care Campus, to assist us with our campaign to close puppy factories. You can view the animals we have for adoption by visiting www.adoptapet.com.au Remember, sometimes you need to be patient and wait for the perfect friend to come into our Animal Care Campus.

Our adoption team are always willing to help you find your perfect furry match. We hope to see you soon.

Thanks for your questions,

Billy
