Rhymed couplets describe the stuff of pups’ dreams.

The text is accompanied by bright cartoons rendered in oils “with the occasional dog hair mixed in.” They show canines eating in restaurants with their people sadly waiting outside, a pooch campaigning for president, a cowdog rounding up cattle, etc.

The text reads aloud well and the humorous illustrations will attract young readers

(Review by Judith Constantinides, East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library 2000).
