Pre Christmas Holiday Sessions
The RSPCA WA Education team held three pre Christmas holiday sessions with children ages 5-14. Participants cooked yummy treats, made Christmas presents for family members and met some furry friends. Thanks to all of the fantastic children who attended Catmas and made it such a great success. Thank you also to the girls from Chisholm Catholic College for helping Education staff to prepare and run the sessions. We hope all our RSPCA WA friends had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Not only will we be running Christmas sessions in 2013, our Manager has told us that we need to get hopping on a fantastic Easter session for all our valued members and school holiday participants as well. Make sure you keep an eye on the website at www.rspcawa.asn.au for more details and contact us to ensure you get up to date information about sessions and special activities scheduled for 2013.
The RSPCA WA Pet Barn is getting a makeover!
The Community Education Unit has been hard at work renovating the rear of our Pet Barn. The once overgrown space is slowly becoming a working sustainable garden that will be used in future programs. The garden is a feature of our soon to be relaunched Pet Barn which will be reborn as Barn and Yard @ RSPCA WA.
Here you can see our resident “Mr Fix-it” Education Officer Steve hard at work helping to level the dirt, install a soak well, pave and install reticulation to make sure our garden is water wise.
We hope that the rather colourful renovations will encourage more people to come to see us at RSPCA WA Malaga, visit with our Pet Barn animals and get their hands dirty in the garden to help feed our pets!
